Moč noči je v svetlobi zvezd (The Power of Night is in the Light of Stars)

Marija and Andrej Štremfelj
Travel Lecture
Thirty-five years ago, Marija and Andrej Štremfelj became the first married couple to embrace atop the world. Just two years ago, they embarked on a new and somewhat different adventure together. In the autumn of 2023, they became the first Slovenians to traverse the Nepalese section of the Great Himalaya Trail in one go. Over 88 days, the 1,600-kilometer-long trail took them to the foothills of the highest peaks they had conquered during their remarkable mountaineering careers. In three months, they crossed 15 passes over 5,000 meters high and covered 83 kilometers of ascents. Despite numerous previous visits to Nepal, they experienced the land beneath the Himalayas in an entirely new way.
Their experiences, adventures, and emotions are captured in their second joint book, aptly titled Moč noči je v svetlobi zvezd (The Power of Night is in the Light of Stars). “The entire Great Himalaya Trail seems like a condensed reflection of our lives. Seemingly monotonous daily walking with the same person, yet in reality, an infinite diversity of experiences, encounters, landscapes, views, and relationships with the people who accompanied us and those we met along the way.”
The lecture will be held in Slovenian.
