Lalung 1

Mountaineering Lecture

Four female alpinists—Ana Baumgartner, Urša Kešar, Anja Petek, and Patricija Verdev—embarked on a 34-day expedition to the remote Lalung Valley in the Zanskar mountain range of the Indian Himalayas. During the expedition, they climbed three first ascent routes above their base camp, with one rope team reaching the summit of the 6,243-meter-high, previously unclimbed Lalung I peak. Alongside their mountaineering achievements, they faced challenges together, encountered bears, and forged a deep camaraderie that connected them before, during, and after the expedition. The remote and wild environment offered them opportunities for new experiences and pushing their limits.

The lecture reveals a story of courage, collective strength, and the inspiring spirit of women’s mountaineering.

The event will be held in Slovenian.
