Film and Discussion

The Julian Alps and Kamnik-Savinja Alps have long been a favored destination for Czech mountaineers. In 1897, they established their own association in Prague as a branch of the then Slovenian Mountaineering Society, strengthening ties between Slovenian and Czech climbers. In 1900, the Czech branch built the Czech Hut (Češka koča), which remains the most prominent symbol of this collaboration. The docudrama film portrays this cooperation, from the establishment of the Czech branch of the Slovenian Mountaineering Society to the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Czech Hut on Spodnje Ravni. The film was created by Ladislav Jirásko, a publicist, editor, collector of historical materials, and a great friend of Slovenia.

The discussion about the film and Czech-Slovenian cooperation will feature Ladislav Jirásko, Mayor of Jezersko Andrej Karničar, Czech Hut caretaker Karmen Klaura, and Miro Eržen from the Avgust Delavec Foundation. The discussion will be moderated by Dušan Škodič.

The event will be held in Slovenian.
