Bor Levičnik, Žiga Oražem, and Matija Volontar: From Climbing Partners to Friends

Bor, Matija, and Žiga have known each other for many years. They live in different parts of Slovenia (Ljubljana, Kranjska Gora, Kamnik), but as members of the Slovenian Youth Alpine Climbing Team, they started to climb together, first in Slovenia and then abroad. They all started as sport climbers before venturing into the mountains and onto big walls. They soon became good friends, which is essential in tough situations in the high alpine. This past fall, they returned from a successful Himalayan expedition with a new route up the 1000-meter west face of Pomlaca (6180 m) under their belt.
