Alaska Alpine Style

Jack Tackle has climbed numerous new routes in Alaska and other mountain ranges all over the world. He’s been to the Himalaya, Patagonia, European Alps, Canada, Alaska, Pakistan… He’s given lectures at the Banff Film Festival, Trento Film Festival, and at National Geographic in Washington DC. In his lecture he’ll focus on seven significant first ascents he did in Alaska, on hard new routes he climbed in Canada, and on other important alpine-style ascents. The central theme of his lecture, which is important for climbers and non-climbers alike, is that self-reliance and commitment to the goal are imperative. Commitment, vision, and trust are the three key elements of any alpine-style climb, and trust in yourself and your partner is essential.
